Stuff I Love

At a time like this, I wish I were Oprah (or just as rich as Oprah) or Pioneer Woman (or um, just as rich as Pioneer Woman) so that I could give you all my favorite things. But I'm not.

Not even close. Not even close to being close.

So I'm having to settle and only tell you about my favorite things as of late. Not quite as much fun, but still useful, yes?

These blankets were a baby gift from a dear friend and I LOVE them. They are made from light weight muslin, perfect for swaddling or for covering up when you need to nurse, especially when it's hot. I'm not sure how I managed four other babies without them. They are that perfect. Made by a company called Aden and Anais, you can check them out at their website: Adan and Anais (my blankets are from the classic collection).

Oh, how I loved this book. Flavia de Luce, a witty, wise beyond her years eleven year old is undoubtedly one of my favorite heroines of all time. She is so likable, so funny, and so completely brilliant. This book is superbly written, fast paced and thoroughly engaging. Don't let Flavia's age scare you off. It's not written for young readers. You'll love it, I promise. You can find it in any bookstore, or on Amazon.

This one is on my list for Jordan to read, though it's on my list of personal favorites as well. It's simple and heartfelt and so emotionally compelling. Read it. You'll love it. The Bronze Bow on Amazon

For a long time, I was pretty sure almonds gave me migraines. Then my husband asked me to get some Blue Diamond Honey Roasted Almonds for him, so I did. Then I ate one. Then I died of happiness. I tried really hard to only eat one, but instead I ate pretty much the entire container. And guess what?! Four containers later, still no headache. Happiest discovery of my life, I tell ya.

I don't own this yet, but I'm going to. I love it so very much. I have two other custom necklaces crafted by The Vintage Pearl, and I love them, with all my heart. It makes me happy to wear them. It's going to make me even happier to wear this one. Who wouldn't love wearing the names of all their babies? If you ever want to get custom jewelry for someone, this is a great place to start. Lovely, lovely stuff, and reasonably priced, too!

So now you know what's been floatin' my boat lately. I might sound a little like an infomercial, but I promise these opinions are all my own. I'm not getting one single thing for this post. Except the joy of knowing these things might make one of you happy too.

What's your current favorite thing?

Oh, I love the necklace. It would be amazing (Although, getting eleven names on it might be rough). I love to read, but haven't read either of these. I am going to check out the library and see if they are in!

I chose you over Oprah. I can never afford her crap either. Although are you going to be giving out free cars? Should I be looking under my seat right now???

The almonds sound awesome. I wonder if Costco sells them so I can buy 1,000 pounds for $25.

And thanks for the book recommendations...on my to read list.

I LOVE "The Bronze Bow." Such a fantastic book. Everyone should read it.

My current favorite thing is oilcloth. I can't seem to get enough of it.

I have those Aiden and Anais swaddling blankets and they are awesome. The more you wash them the softer they get. Plus the bigger size allows you to use them even when they are toddlers. Best baby purchase ever.

I just added those two books to my GoodReads. I am seriously in trouble with my to-read list.

The Bronze Bow is spectacular. I love that book.

My favorite thing lately has to be my new iPhone. I have iStake, which allows me to find anyone I need in the stake. Maps, phone numbers, etc.
